Engine bay clean & protect

Low-moisture clean with safe degreasers, with no pressure washer near the electrics, finished with a heat-resistant, dust-repelling dressing.

Spot scratch removal

Targeted wet-sanding and polishing of an isolated deep scratch, checked with a paint-depth gauge as it goes. The aim is a 70–90%+ improvement, so it disappears from about 2 metres away.

Questions

Do I need to provide water or electricity?

No. The van carries its own 250-litre tank of deionised water and a 5,000-watt generator, so the work can happen on your driveway or at your office car park. For long correction days, plugging into your mains is recommended to keep the noise down.

How do I book, and when do I pay?

Send a message with your car and location and you’ll get a price and a date. A £50 deposit secures the slot and comes off the final bill. The rest is paid when the job is finished. The final price is confirmed once Buff Details has seen the car.

Why does London cost more than Hertfordshire?

City work means more fuel, ULEZ, parking restrictions and much longer travel between jobs. Hertfordshire has shorter, more predictable journeys, so it has its own lower price list. The Congestion Charge is added where it applies.

Why is the longest coating 3 years, when others sell 7 or 9?

Because that’s what a coating really lasts on UK roads. Road salt, fallout and traffic film wear every coating down, and the long warranties depend on upkeep most people can’t keep up. Gyeon Q² Mohs EVO is an honest 3-year coating that keeps performing.

Why are polishing and coating sold together?

A coating over swirled paint locks the swirls in, and freshly polished paint left bare starts to dull straight away. Doing both in one visit gets the finish right and keeps it that way, at one clear price.

What’s the difference between 1-stage and 2-stage correction?

1-stage is one machine-polishing pass that takes out everyday swirls, about 50–70% of defects. 2-stage adds a heavy cutting pass first for deeper scratches and etching, then refines, aiming for 80–90%+.

What if the weather is bad?

In heavy rain, high wind or freezing temperatures the job is moved to a new date at no cost, and your deposit carries over.

What do I need to have ready?

Empty the car of belongings and rubbish, leave 1.5 m of clear space around it, and make sure the van can park legally within 5–10 m. If a permit or visitor voucher is needed, have it ready before arrival.
